A reason why we’re thankful for friends

The reason of the day – they are sources of encouragement and gentle reminders.  One lady we are anxious to become a momma is Katy Rose.  She has such a beautiful and compassionate heart.  I can’t wait to share in the wonderful journey of mommahood with her.  And learn from that girl.  I have thought and hurt over the issue of childhood hunger so much since my darling abi-girl came into my life.  It hit home on an entirely new level to me.  When you are fortunate to be feeding your baby – you are sometimes so painfully aware that there are so many other mommas who hurt and are in despair because they can not do the same.  You think, you look for action, you pray.  And you must rest that God is sovereign and loving.

A beautiful poem that Katy wrote in anticipation of her sweet bambino entering the world.  And a reminder as we anxiously anticipate showering the Roses in gifts – to be mindful and loving to those who are in need.  To those who need our love.  To experience God’s love for them.  Thanks, Katy!

As the day quickly approaches in January '10

It's a little hard to know exactly where to begin!
So many onesies and wet wipes to buy
And books to read on what to do when he cries

But it matters not much if everything's in place
This babe will be just fine the day he shows his face

It's quite unimaginable that a baby will arrive
On the same day as ours but won't have food to survive

As we have been given, we've a responsibility to give
The best gift for us will be knowing another baby lived

Split your gift in two- some for us, some for others
Or all to one place- Baby Rose, or his needy sisters & brothers

Dear friends and family, we thank you sincerely
We know that through you this boy will be loved dearly

Even if you don’t have a baby that you are anticipating their arrival (we are amazingly blessed that we are anticipating THREE sweet babies in early 2010) – please check out World Vision. Their website is so eye-opening and heart-tugging.  Here

Aren’t they lovely??!!

i love this. sweet, sweet friend of ours. What a wonderful idea!

It's so easy to get wrapped up in the fun planning and details. Her heart is pure and intentional. What a wonderful example of Christ's love!
