Story Time

Abi and I went with our friends Rylan and Parker (and moms respectively) to check out our neighborhood library’s Story Time!  It was a BLAST!  Now, it is questionable how much appreciation was had for the actual story time  – but the girls loved each other’s snacks and drinks / being socially awkward with other kiddos (by the adult standard – socially awkward doesn’t exist in the itty-bitty world!) / and then checking out some books and DVD’s after the story time was up!  We love local things and we love reading – this is a good fit!  We’re excited to go again!

An apple a day…

Well, we’re not trying to keep our doctor away – we love Dr. Halsell!  This morning, Abi and I were getting ready to make applesauce (and by abi and I – I mean that Abi was holding the apples for me) – and baby girl decided that she was hungry.  Yikes – didn’t even know that her little teeth could get into an apple!!

Here’s where I thought the situation was: (don’t worry – we peel the apples and washed again!)

But in actuality:

She actually ended up eating quite a bit!  Although I did find bits of apple stashed around the kitchen throughout the day!

My baby’s a Texan

Not that we ever doubted it – but baby girl proved it yesterday as we were at Nanny & Grandpa’s swimming.  We came in from the pool – showered abi off (sweet thang’s got super sensitive skin, so we have to get the chlorine off of her quickly!) – and started packing up to leave.  So, we turned on the music channels on the TV.  First = jazz = abi, not so much.  She was interested, but kind of turned up her nose at it.  Ahhh, but then we switched to the country channel – and Abi lit up.  As we were two-stepping, as well as a dallas-boy and michigan-girl can – abi just went nuts.  The song playing: George Strait’s “How ‘bout them cowgirls.”  Oh Abi girl – we love your quirkiness.  We need to start looking for your fist set of pink cowgirl boots.

But fool me twice…

So, yesterday Abi and I were getting ready to put her down for her nap – and I gave her the diaper as I went to grab something else.  Usually she (may I say, brilliantly and very effectively) tries to put the diaper on herself or one of her babies.  But, today she was very quiet and was on a mission.  Truthfully, I didn’t pay much attention.  I just completed my mini task.  Shame on me.  NEVER continue on the scheduled plan if all goes quiet.  She had taken her cloth diaper and dumped it in the toilet.  What do you do but laugh??!!  And, I do have to give her credit – this is where we place our dirty diapers to rinse them off before washing them.  Smart baby.  Now, fool me once – shame on you.  Fool me twice - shame on me.  This whole scenario was once again repeated in the evening.  However, I did think to grab my camera.  But, we were wasteful in the house tonight – as she wears disposables at night-time.  Oh, Abi.

Yep – that’s right – I play the wii

Oh it’s silly.  But, stinkin’ cute!  Abi has always really enjoyed watching the wii being played – and then graduated by wanting to be held while it was being played – but now she loves to get her ski on.

(FYI – baby girl actually made it through about 1/3 of the gates on the slalom ski!)

Check me Out!

While it’s not “Problem Child” or multiple ad campaigns – little lady is on her way to catching her poppa on being a published lady.  But, she’s doing it 21st century style!  This is the main picture on our realtor’s website – tilgerwright.com (if you’re looking to move in dallas – Donald Wright rocks!!).  Look at that little beauty on the front row!

We are living in a material world…

Oh, and please don’t let my baby be a material girl.  Ugh, we went to the mall today (in hopes of going to the library – YES, it’s awesome there’s a library in Northpark) – but it is closed on Tuesday!  Boo.  So, we just strolled around.  Well, let me correct that – we attempted to stroll.  I got a bit of a tutorial in how well Abi minds me.  Hmmm, not so well it turns out.  Hear: “Abi, this way baby.”  See: Abi head in the opposite direction.  Oh, realizing that your child most definitely has a mind of their own.  But, baby girl loved clothes shopping with momma.  She loved the colors, loved the textures, and was really confused by the headless manikins in the stores.    She cracked me up in the dressing room.  She was quite smitten with herself in the mirror, and tried to escape on me!  What a little character.

Trouble with a capital T

Oh, but look at that smile.  Love her.  BUT, I’m in dire need of coming up with some clever solutions (refuse to close the door all day) to abi’s little infatuation with toilet paper.

My colorful world…

Abi loves to color.  Apparently they also taste pretty yummy.  We’re working on that.  Some shots of our artist at work:

Abi's Little Party at Flag Pole Hill

Here’s a little tidbit for having a child’s birthday party (in all of my wisdom, you know, after hosting one…) but it is AWESOME to have it at a park, because all of the entertainment is already provided for you! And we got insanely lucky because Dallas had a cold front move in the night before, making Abi’s party temperature be comfortably in the low 90s. What a fun evening – we had such a wonderful time enjoying the company of good friends and celebrating our sweet Abi’s life! Thank you to everyone who came, what sweet memories! And to those who couldn’t come – you were missed greatly!

Rachel, thank you for taking such great pictures! We so appreciate it!!

I hate blog writer

Well, not really – ask me any other day and I love it. BUT, today it’s not letting me post pictures in a photo album – so after the 8th (literally) attempt – I’m calling it quits until hubby gets home.  (He laughs because I lose lots of resourcefulness when he walks through the door – and today I’m doing it willingly and knowingly!)  Here’s a preview of what I hope to come…
